These are really nice because they weigh hardly anything, take up less space, and are really quiet since you don’t have to worry about a metal buckle banging around.
If I had to say something negative about them it’s that I cannot seem to strap them as tightly around the tree as I can with the versa straps, which leads to my climbing sticks being more easy to kick away from my feet when I’m climbing down. This may just be inexperience with them but we’ll see.
For those who have issues with the prusik knot getting too tight after using the ropes, this is the nature of the prusik knot. To loosen, grab each end of the knot with your fingertips and twist back and forth like you’re wringing out a wash cloth, and after a few twists the knot will loosen up and you can slide it around again.
I love the new amsteel ropes for my sticks. It's amazing how much quieter they make the sticks when getting them on and off the stand when packing and unpacking. Really looking forward to sneaking in close on a public land buck this year with them.
I really loved the AmSteel Rope addition to my Novix climbing sticks! Made transporting and hanging the sticks much easier in the tree. Wanted to give them 5-Stars and would, but the prusik knot on one of my ropes came undone after only one hunting trip. Other than that it’s a 5-Star for me!
The AmSteel rope makes hanging your Novix sticks and Novix Helo so easy and quiet. I would highly recommend!
But for some reason my amsteal ropes i can't adjust them anymore. One i couldn't adjust from the start. I think I'm going back to my cam straps.
